Coverage availability
Producers of a single commodity have four coverage levels to choose from, including:
- 65% level at 75% of the payment rate
- 65% level at 90% of the payment rate
- 75% level at 75% of the payment rate
- 75% level at 90% of the payment rate
- 80% level at 75% of the payment rate
- 80% level at 90% of the payment rate
Premium subsidy
Since this is a federally subsidized risk management program, a significant portion of the premium will be paid by the government.
Policy size limit
The policy is limited in size to a maximum liability (protection in force) of $1 million annually.
Insured causes of loss
Insurance is provided against loss of revenue due to any unavoidable natural peril for market fluctuation that causes a loss in revenue. No payment will be made for losses due to negligence, mismanagement or wrongdoing by the insured or members of his operation.
